In 2006, my wife and her sister started a metaphysical business, Healing Hands Reiki and Massage. They had created a website, but it wasn’t meeting their needs. So, I created a WordPress site for them using the Witcher World theme. I did some customization on the theme, changing some colors. I also edited the PHP and CSS to better fit their needs.
Their site uses several plugins:
- Akismet – To prevent spam in comments
- Constant Contact API – So people can sign up for their email list
- Fast Secure Contact Forms – To allow people to contact them without having to give their email addresses out to everyone
- Google Calendar Events – To link their Google Calendar to their website
- Shadowbox JS – Enables thumbnails to be blown up with AJAX and Shadowbox
- WP-Mail-SMTP – To improve contact form functionality
- WP E-Commerce – Integrates with PayPal for their Shopping Cart functionality
I didn’t do any custom graphic work (other than modifying some colors) because I found the Witcher World theme, which was perfect for their business and personalities. I then ported over their current content and laid things out for them. They now have a blog to easily make new announcements and an e-commerce solution that is easy to add products and track orders.
